FREE STUFF

9.29.2004

9:51 PM

in my search to make the most of my experience by getting money and free stuff, I found those sites that give you free iPods (mine which is coming next week hopefully...), free flatscreen TV or monitor, or a free PC. I have now found a free product so amazing, so useful, so advanced, that even women who loathe technology will flock to it....

Free HANDBAG anyone?

(choose from authentic Prada, Coach, Louis Vuitton, or Kate Spade)

don't blame me, it's my asian-ness. and yes, this is for real. trust me.

INSPIRATION FOR THE WEAK

9.27.2004

8:44 PM

"Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."

-Isaiah 40:28-32

Recent jabber from Chapel Leadership class Friday...

Matt (accidently through microphone to entire jr. high): scott, Mrs. Taylor says you're full of crap

Me (looking around): thanks, I consider that a compliment...

later...

Taylor: scott, you're not really full of crap

Me: of course i'm not

minutes later:

Me: (some spontaneous smart aleck comment directed at Mrs. Taylor)

Taylor: agh, scott, you're...what did i say? crappy, full of it? full of crap?

Me: i think that's what you meant to say...

ahh, the joys and tears of senior year...it just gets better and better...

BEING PRODUCTIVE

9.19.2004

9:30 PM

I am SO ORGANIZED!!!

I got in the mood to think about life methodically, so being that I have a jillion things I need to do for college, I put a nifty checklist chart together. On the left side, I have the six applications I have to fill out, and along the top I put the 17 or so things I have to complete. And all the items that are not applicable (e.g. lack of recommendations for UC's), I fill in the box with black! haha, so neat!

I am SO organized, but I am SO lazy

It was so hard to do homework today, man, so much of it. And now that I got a visual college chart, I look at it and how many checkmarks i DON'T have checked. *sigh.

nothing of great importance happened this week. I think the most interesting thing that happened was me and kev got Sims 2 today. double props to Robbie for getting us the discount. i so want to try it out but i'm so busy. need to resist the temptation. maybe i'll get a chance to play it by the time i get to college!"

PICS OF SENIOR PICS

9.11.2004

9:06 PM

Darn Kurt Burton (the photographer)...
anyways, here's what's left of the 20-something proofs I had. I was supposed to scan all of them, but my parents returned them when I was away at camp, so these two remain. They're a bit fuzzy since they're pics of pics, but you get the picture (no pun intended).

I'm getting a ton of the one on the left, the tux one. All my cousins thought the one on the right was the second best one so I've got that one in the picture too. Let me know if you want a wallet, and I'll see if I can get them to you when they come in.

Props to my cousin Julia for the picture. Turned out to be a good thing she got that pic!

man, i hate that kurt burton guy...

EDIT: shoot I just relized I forgot to stop by school friday night to help clean up gym night after my SAT class. umm, suck up time?

DIAGNOSIS: SENIORITIS

9.01.2004

9:45 PM

Senior year is so great! I get off at 12:30 pm! Yes, that means I go home for lunch! Makes my senioritis worse though.

Here's a breakdown of senior year:

A: NONE!!! No waking up before the sun this year!

1: AP Lit (Knott) - better than I thought so far, but we're not doing real major work yet. Mrs. Knott's cool, she's like the senior teacher. This is my most challenging class though. I hate English

2: AP Calc (Irwin) - Besides the fact that Mr. Irwin moved all his hair to his chin instead of trying to grow more on his head, AP Calc is the usual. Mr. Irwin changed his grading policy though. We'll see if I can score higher than a 2 on this AP (unlike the last AP I took from him)

3: AP Bio (Reid) - Mrs. Reid is so cool. Had her 4 times since 5th grade. First science class since 7th grade with mostly seniors. Bio class is so fun. It'll be challenging, but great.

4: Chapel Leadership (Taylor) - The usual. Since we all knew each other, we went right to planning. We're screwed though. Half the class has AP's during Jr. High chapel so we may run into some problems there. One unusual thing: Mrs. T didn't start the first couple days of class with a fart or a belch this year =/

5: Government (Tuuri) - Mrs. Tuuri is a great college counselor, and she's an even better teacher. I'm looking forward to this class.

THAT'S ALL FOLKS! I GO HOME FOR LUNCH!

My LPC Class: Computer Forensics (Gonder) - Gonder's a funny guy. I laugh at a lot of his jokes that non-geeks would glare at. He's one of those pre-Vietnam activists who protested against the war, got arrested, watched the war fail and said "I TOLD YOU SO!" Going to be an interesting class. Best part is that it's online, so once I go home from Valley, there's no need to drive to Livermore.

So, that was a long hiatus from blogging, an entire month. That means I either must like reading my own rants or don't have a life. I've updated the page a bit, changed the color of the top title bar, added a ton of blogs to my bloglist, and most importantly for all you SENIORS, a countdown to how many more days of senioritis we must endure.

POLL: Should I mirror these posts on my unused, ignored Xanga in an attempt to get more readership? Leave me a comment, and if I don't receive very many, which will probably happen, then that probably means yes.

SNEAK PREVIEW OF UPCOMING POSTS: College applications! (Ooh, aah, ohhh!)
